Going Bush by Melissa Banks
ARTIST NOTES: I deeply know this place. The land in all her living history that my heart calls for when the pace of ‘here, today’ edges into the margins that rejuvenate my breath. Going bush. I travel the roads. But from with the birds, I see planes merge with hills and willingly yield to the life force of waterways. They know. And I know I’m almost there. So close to the moment my chest will release the anticipation of arriving. I breathe. Senses heightened, colour saturated. There is magic in all her detail. Going bush, I am a visitor and witness here.
